This is one of the things we actually have at my school, the torso with organs that we can take out easilly but is very hard to put the pieces in place again. Anyway, its very good to be able to show how the organs is organised in the body. When we are talking about stomach pain they could really see why it is very hard to know the cause, it is a many organs on a small part of the body.
They also had the torso at the school where I practiced and it's very practical I think to be able to pick the pieces out. It gives the students a clearer understanding about how the body works.
ReplyDeleteThat´s true. You really need a 3D model in order to learn the exact positions of the different organs of the torso.
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit spookey though :-)
DeleteWe have no torso in the school where I work. We make use of the internet where we googled up information about the human body, both in words and pictures. A torso is mighty expensive to buy, I have heard. Do you know what it costs about?
ReplyDeleteI could also see that the students found it easier to learn when they got use of the torso and not just theoretically look at the pictures ...
ReplyDeleteHi
