This is a moment were the students are learning how to move the patient from one place to another. The patient need to have some strength in there legs to achieve this moment. It´s a motor in the machine that pulls the patient up.
I have never used a lifting equipment with wheels underneath. Is the patient supposed to be transferred (shorter distances) while standing upright on the "board"?
Hi Jonas, the lift how is used in this picture is for helping people uu, that doesn´t have so much strenhgt in the legs, and it´s for standing them up and place them in a chair or something like that.
Wow, I haven't seen this kind of machine before! Seems to be a good help for the nurses so that they can spare their backs when they don't have to lift the patients themselves.
It shows you a moment which I think is important that students have had to test to make on each other. To themselves have had experience being in the patient's situation. To increase understanding of how important it is to prepare the patient before doing the various phases of the movement.
This is not an equipment from a classroom, the stundent have to go to the elderlycare center is and occupationaltherapist is working there. So all equiment is there for the students.

ReplyDeleteIt looks save but machine and wheels, something can go wrong and its very important that the nurses have proper education before using it.

ReplyDeleteWe don't have this type of machine in our class rooms either, it does look it would take some skill to use.
