Students in the Diploma Community Services Work often undertake learning activities together on a specific topic. This team are part of a Community of Practice within the class group, researching their interest in Mental Health. They will work together on the project and then share their results and resources in a class forum next week.
This sounds interesting. Where is this happening. We have run a program of teacher professional development to support a recovery approach when working when students who will go on to work in community services or mental health etc- it's called ROCIV (recovery oriented certificate4 mental health)
ReplyDeleteHi Beverly, this program is at TAFE NSW Riverina Institute in Australia and students may go on to complete the Certificate IV in Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs. The ROCIV sounds like a very good model of professional development.
