Photo 1-Learning Commons

I am Di and I teach in the area of Community Services & Health. This is the new Library Learning Commons building at TAFE NSW Riverina Institute Albury campus which is on the Murray River in NSW Australia. The Riverina geographic area is very large with several key regional cities and our Institute covers a diverse range of teaching styles including class room, distance and work-based models. Teaching in this large geographic area presents the challenge of meeting the needs of students in outlying rural areas or in the workplace and finding innovative teaching methods to address their learning goals.

  2. Hi Kerstin, we have a very large number of students at the campus and in Community Services and Aged Care we have approximately 100 students altogether. They range from courses in Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma. It is interesting that we do mostly have women in our course although we do have a small number of men, usually two in each class.
